It goes without saying that the Anglo /American / Zionist aggression on
Iraq, had left its worst repercussions on the Palestinian cause, and its
struggle for the liberation of the land and the people. The reasons are
many, but the most important of which is due to the fact that our enemy
had been working on replacing our people, and had already occupied our
land, Palestine, by using force and terrorism.
Aggression on Iraq came under the banner of liberating
it from its dictatorial regime, and replacing it by a democratic liberal
rule, which came armed with a huge arsenal of deadly and most
sophisticated weapons, and by a concentrated and flagrant Israeli /
Zionist instigation, both the American and the Zionist agitators and
aggressors who belong to the extreme rightist likudenics.
No doubt the Zionist state benefited most from this
aggression, because although Iraq was under the burden of a dictatorial
regime, siege and sanctions, which crippled it, but it was still a
scarecrow for the Zionist enemy. Iraq has unlimited human and natural
potentials and resources. It also used to give material, financial and
moral support to Palestinian Arabs, and their patriotic leadership,
during their INTIFADAH. What angered Zionists most was the financial
help Iraq extended to the families of INTIFADAH martyrs, when almost all
financial support from most other Arab sources was interrupted under
U.S. pressure, which was stirred by the Zionist / Israeli lobbies.
In the absence of the Iraqi scarecrow from the Arab
horizon, and due to the weakness of the Palestinian administration
(government), and the willingness of those who look forward to replace
it, to end the INTIFADAH and unarm it, the only mean besides the
people’s resistance and their adamant will to fight for their existence
in their land, or die in its defense, is the only weapon still available
to them.
As a result of the aggression on Iraq, the submission of
the Palestinian official leadership to the American / Zionist pressure
that followed it, and the interference (goodwill) of certain Arab
regimes who received the American and Zionist blessings, the Palestinian
official leadership gave up its conditions on the forming of the new
Palestinian cabinet under the leadership of Abu Mazen / Dahlan. They
both want to put an end to the INTIFADAH and its armed resistance. The
juggleries played to go around the opposition and the presidential
conditions that facilitated the forming of the government are well
known.
The imposed solution was that the “assigned” Prime
Minister would carry the portfolio of the ministry of the interior,
which actually became the ministry of municipalities as it was skimmed
of its armed force, which was put under the control of Dahlan under the
title of minister of state for security, the thing the president
opposed. With this force put in the hands of the latter he can fulfill
the assignment appointed to him by those who imposed this solution.
The Palestinian presidency was put under siege in the
“Mukataa” building surrounded with the rubble of its annexes. The
“Mukataa” building was not demolished over the heads of those who were
confined in it, because of certain international conditions. But still
the Palestinian presidency was enjoying a lot of international, and some
popular support. But with the strength and ascendancy the Americans and
Zionists gained as a result of the aggression on Iraq, they could force
the Palestinian official leadership to submit to their orders. Americans
/ Zionists forced most Arab rulers for further submission, just to be
able to continue sitting on their thrones and presidential chairs, which
further increase Arab weakness in facing the repercussions of the
aggression on Iraq.
The United States had clearly said that one of the major
aims of the aggression is to preserve the security of “Israel”, the
Zionist State.
Considering the Palestinian Presidency ,we disagree with
it, and we do not approve of its actions, due to its system of rule,
namely acting single-handedly. This sort of disposition opened the way
wide for the Zionist enemy and its strategic ally, especially after the
aggression, and gave them the “credibility” to accuse the Palestinian
authority of corruption and acting single-handedly. This encouraged them
to demand the change of the official leadership.
On this basis, and in spite of our full trust in our
people, their heroic struggle to defend themselves and their right to
stand fast in their land, in occupied Palestine, and to defeat the
Zionist enemy and its supporters, but we still see after this aggression
a very long tunnel that we have to pass through.
