UN Report: Israel erected more roadblocks

A report issued by the Quartet (US, EU, Russia and UN) Tuesday accused the Zionist regime of erecting more roadblocks throughout the West Bank.

The report, prepared by Quartet representative James Wolfenson, pointed out that the Israeli occupation army placed more restrictions on Palestinian movement and the flow of goods and services throughout the West Bank.

Wofenson described the Israeli measures as a stark violation to recent agreements, including an American-brokered agreement on the operation of the Rafah border crossing.

Wolfenson said the number of roadblocks in the West Bank has increased from 396 last month to 403 by the end of December, 2005.

Wofenson also accused Israel of dragging its feet regarding the opening of a safe passage between the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

Israel agreed then to allow Palestinians to travel in both directions between Gaza and the West Bank.

However, the Israeli government has been refusing to allow an unfettered travel movement between the two regions.
