Why do
Palestinians Have an Infinite Spirit of Resistance?
What are the
Differences between Zionist Settler Colonialism
and Other White
Settler Colonialist Movements?
There are various
plans and suggestions aimed at solving the Arab-Israeli conflict. Most
of them have never been discussed. And those discussed, but not
necessarily accepted by the Palestinian and Arab nation, never
guaranteed to the Palestinians their minimal rights. This is also why
Oslo Accords, while still on the table, constituted a catastrophe for
the Palestinian people, especially those in the occupied West Bank and
Gaza.
This article will
try to answer two main questions related to the Palestinian issue:
I. Why the
suggested solutions have failed?
II. And how do the
Palestinian people store that great power and spirit of prolonged
resistance?
***
As for the failure
of the hereto proposed plans and solutions, it should be emphasized that
they never emanated from the partners in the conflict. Invariably, they
were designed by two foreign camps, both of which have ignored the basic
rights of the Palestinian people. These camps are either the enemies of
the Palestinian people or those favoring the existence of the Zionist
entity on Palestinian land and supported the termination of the
Palestinian Right of Return (ROR).
All the suggested
solutions were designed either by the ruling classes of the western
capitalist countries (the core capitalist countries), which have
interests in the region, or by the ruling classes in the Arab countries
who have always been ready to betray the nationalist Arab cause, as it
is the case of the ruling comprador in Egypt and Jordan.
None of the
solutions were created in consultation with the Arab people, in general,
or the Palestinians, in particular. Most, if not all, the suggested
solutions, while not necessarily devised in consultation with the Jewish
settlers in Palestine, took into consideration their aggressive
interests by ignoring the ROR.
It is well
understood that there will never be a regionally created solution unless
a deep change takes place in the region. In other words, a re-education
should take place.
The Zionist
settlers must be re-educated to realize that there will never be a peace
in the region unless they accept the ROR and stop arguing for, and
working towards, a pure Jewish state in Palestine.
The Arab people
must deeply realize that the Jewish settlers in Palestine have the right
to be accepted and absorbed in the Arab future as a cultural minority
with full citizenship’s rights, i.e. cultural, civil, spiritual... etc.
It is clear that
both partners of the conflict are not ready yet to be partners in peace.
It is also clear that the main obstacle for peace is the Zionist role,
interests, practice and education.
***
Regarding the
second question of how Palestinians could gather all this power and
spirit of resistance, the answer, to a large extent, is related to the
answer of the first question.
The Zionist entity
was created over the ruins of the Palestinian people, and continually
practices the most brutal terror against them. This makes it impossible
for Palestinian popular circles to discuss peace, while the enemy
continues killing women and children, assassinating leaders, demolishing
homes, and destroying the productive base of the Palestinian economy.
Simply, the daily challenges, imposed by the Zionist entity, are direct
and huge factors in breeding resistance.
To further
clarify, we must note that since the Zionists conquered Palestine and
settled in the place of the Palestinians. The only way they, as
settlers and racists, could accomplish this has been through expelling
and killing the Palestinians, in order to build a pure Jewish state over
their ruins. As long as the Zionists insist on creating/maintaining a
pure Jewish state and rejecting the ROR, the Palestinians will resist,
and the Zionists will continue their terror. This reminds us of the
arguments of the enemies of peace, such as Huntington, who preaches for
wars among civilizations and religions, and the beliefs of the new
ruling right in the United States. While the Zionist colonization of
Palestine was motivated primarily by capitalist interests, it was
camouflaged by cultural and ideological justifications, such as the
‘promised land’, the superiority of the Jewish race, etc.
However, there is
another factor behind the ability of the Palestinian people to resist.
This factor stems from the main difference between Zionist settler
colonialism and other forms of white colonialism. This difference is
manifested in terms of time, space, and structure of the Zionist
colonialism.
As for the time,
the Zionist settler colonialism in Palestine took place too late
compared to other white settler colonialists i.e. the Spanish and
Portuguese colonization of Latin America several centuries ago in the
era of capitalist mercantilism, and the British colonization of North
America (later the United States) and the British and French settler
colonialism in Canada, the British colonialism of Australia, New Zeeland
and later South Africa. The Jewish colonialism in Palestine took place
in the twentieth century.
Regarding the
issue of space, the Palestinians are part of a greater Arab Homeland.
This homeland allowed Palestinian refugees access and protected them
from total Zionist annihilation. It should be noted that the Arab space
which protected the Palestinians, became in the end the place of the
refugees. The phenomenon of the Palestinian refugees is the only one of
its kind compared to other settler colonial cases.
Following is an
example of how racism justifies genocide of non-white peoples who lack a
large space to accept and protect them as refugees. According to the
British economist historian E. E. Rich:
“It has been
reckoned that at the approach of the Spaniards, in 1492, total Caribbean
population in Hispaniola was about 300,000. By 1508 it was reduced to
about 60,000. A great decline had brought it to about 14,000 by 1514,
as serious settlement began; and by 1548 it had reached a figure which
indicated virtual extermination, about 500”.[1]
The rest of the
native population of Americas is living now in isolated reservations. If
the Crusade campaigns during the feudal Middle Ages did not fail, the
Arab Homeland might be in the same situation of the Native Americans.[2]
But why has
Zionist colonialism arrive so late?
The classic white
settler-colonialism was a result of the European dynamism in the
mercantile and capitalist eras. It is colonialism practiced by developed
capitalist social formations. It is colonialism led by independent
nation states which have surplus population and capital on the one hand,
and which have strong and developed military might, on the other. These
social formations were mature enough to generate surplus capital to
invest abroad.
Israel is totally
different. It never was a state or a social formation. The Jews never
were in one place to form one people, or a nation state. They were
scattered all over the globe as citizens in each country they were
living in. The social formation that was capitalized and practiced
colonialism, the western European, has been matured by itself, by
internal dynamism, while the people of Israel are a collection of spare
parts from all over the globe. Israel has been created artificially by
others. That is why it can never be more than an agent state, not a
natural state.
What is more
important is the fact that the Zionists could never have invaded
Palestine by themselves. They needed a strong superpower to support them
in occupying Palestine and to keep protecting them. That job was done by
the most savage colonial country of that time, Great Britain.
While each white
settler project was supported by one metropolitan state, i.e. the
settlers in Australia were supported by British colonialism, the Zionist
colonial settlement in Palestine was and still is supported by most of
the colonial powers (Britain, France, the United States…etc).
In fact, the core
capitalist countries are the metropolis of the Zionist project, which is
in other words, the world capitalist system. Therefore, while each white
settler colonial settlement was supported by one state, which is its
metropolis, the Jewish settlers were supported by all western capitalist
regimes to occupy Palestine, making these countries the joint metropolis
of Israel.
In addition to the
fact that the Zionist Ashkenazi Entity-Israel ZAE-Israel, the Jewish
settlers’ state in Palestine, is the last of its sort in history[3],
there is no hint that it is going to make any changes in its racist
essence! The US and European support of the Israeli occupation of
Palestine, eviction of its population, killing of the Palestinian
people, including children, proves two main facts:
First, that these
countries continue to practice the role of metropolitan to the ZAE.
Second, that ZAE
is a direct western capitalist colonial mission in the region in terms
of exploitation, the culture of killing other races, and the
subservience of all other human beings to the whites!

One might remember here the mentality of Preist Malthus who suggests
wars, famine and epedmic as solutions for humen beings high growth
as an example of inhuman capitalist way of tackling the issue. When
the capitalist Europe realized that the solution of the surplus
population is no more possible to resolve by creating white settler
settlements, it goes to birth control. Even this created its side
effects. The exaggeration of birth control led to a minus population
growth. The solution came as a racist one as well, which is to buy
stolen children from the poor Third World countries!

Science Monitor published an article by the Israeli Minister of
Tourism stated that the best solution for the Arab-Israeli conflict
is to transfer the Palestinians to Jordan.
