Both the Israeli
and American press were over flown in recent months with numerous
expressions of formal American denunciation and indignation against
Netanyahu. These statements might have some truth especially if we take
into consideration the stance of the American president during the 1996
Israeli elections. Clinton had backed the world’s candidate and was an
opponent to Netanyahu.
This truth is more
emphasized when we take into consideration the several embarrassing
situations which Netanyahu has caused for the present American
Administration which all Israelis unanimously agree it is the most pro-
Israeli of all other administrations. Such embarrassments were not only
in obstructing the Oslo Accord but also in preventing America from
showing its commitment by signing and endorsing the Hebron Agreement
between Netanyahu’s government and the Palestinian Authority.
Yet the American
denunciation expressions never reached the extent of following a policy
of humilating Netanyahu according to Washington Post which quoted an
American official as saying “we deal with him as we deal with the
Bulgarian president.” It appears that these reports are what Netanyahu
desired tohave when he made it clear to a capitalist Jew” Edgar Brongman”
few weekago on his views of Clinton’s a ctions; he has said “don’t you
know that there is the Western Saddam Hussein; and Iam the Eastern
Saddam Hussein.”
Due to this reason
and soon after his arrival to America, Netanyahu sought to show his own
capabilities infront of a weak president who suffers personal and
political problems. In return for the “threat” messages of leakage from
the officials of the American Administration, Netanyahu, as usual, sent
open letters to the White House. Also in contradiction with protocol;
Netanyahu met with the president’s flercest opponents before meeting him
at first. It was (Newt Gingrich). The speaker of the House of
Representatives. Also Netanyahu had several meeting with leading
republicans. He Olso delivered a speech at a celebration of the most
reserved and strict Americans who established “A national Unity
coalition For Israel”. They believe that peace between Israel and the
Arabs is mere heresy.
They used to
interrupt Netanyahu by shouting slogans which called for not giving up
any atom of earth”. The paramount of the festival was when Netanyahu met
with Jerry Falwill, the leader of the Moral Majority, who believes that
Clinton is a “drug trafficker.”
Inspite of the
fact that Clinton, after meetingseveral leaders of Amercian Jewish
Organizations; has emphasized that he will not exert any pressure on
Israel, and he reiterated the full support to Israel and its security
and that Israel” this did not lessen Netanyahu’s indignation on Clinton.
The support of the Moral Majority, the Republicans and the Jewish
Organizations to Netanyahu gave him strength to exercise pressure on

Haretz newspaper indicated
A precedence by
Netanyahu when he invited television crews to conduct interviews with
him inside the White House. This was met by dissatisfaction from the
White House team who tried to explain to Netanyahu’s entourage that it
was a precedence. Their answer, according to the newspaper, was that
Netanyahu will have the interview in the White House garden if he was
not granted permission inside it, so they gave up at the end and allowed
him to conduct the interviews inside the White House.
What
are Benyamin Netanyahu’s resources?

This Coalition had
published a full-page announcement in the Washington Post in which it
criticized the American Administration stance towards Israel. Also the
announcement had mentioned that the Clinton Administration was trying to
pull down the democratically elected government in Israel.
The coalition
consists of 20 Jewish and Christian Organizations which run about 46
thousand churches in the United States. One of its leading figures in
Pastor Jerry Falwin the founder of “Moral Majority.” The Coalition
consists of Jewish Organizations like. “JNSA”- The Security.
Jewish Association
in Washington- it is an American Zionist Organization under the
leadership of Morton Clayn who is considered one of the extreme right
figures in the Jewish leadership.
The activities of
the Christian extreme right criticize and annoy certain parties of the
Jews in America. For example, the Jewish Association To Ban
III-reputation, has been monitoring for a number of years the
declarations of the right Christian leaders Pat Robertson and Jerry
Falown. These parties view Robertson and Falown as representatives of
religious and Christian views which put all minorities in the United
States, including the Jews, at a stake.
Abraham Foxman,
the general Director of the Association considers that both Robertson
and Falown are “problematic to the Jews” and these two Christian leaders
seek to cancel the secular view which is to separate religion from the
state”. Both are attempting to draw a Christian picture and a tendency
based on the Christian traditions which absolutely contradict the view
of the Jewish community in the United States. There are many lawsuits
between the Jewish organizations and the Christian coalition on a number
of issues. The coalition is trying to introduce and impose prayers at
schools and demands federal funds for Christian religious schools.
However the
marriage of mutual interest between parties of the American Jewish
community and the conservative Christian Coalition is not only confined
to the political aspect concerning Israel, but also it extends more
deeply because it is based on ideological basis which are more clearly
shown in the Christian Embassy and the Evangelist Organizations.
The Evangelists
are one of the branches of the branches of the Protestant faith and the

Professor Ya’qub

Inspite of the
Jews ban of all forms of preaching, the Israeli settlements allow
Evangelists to preach among Palestinians, this issus recently lead to a
number of problems since this action towards Palestinians was not
consideed as a change in religious faith but as a transfer to an adverse

Embassy which was held in Western Jerusalem in government buildings in

Thus we suporholding fast to Judea and Samaria (West Bank). Netanyahu’s
views do not please the world, but we do believe that he is right. There
is no peace for land. Peace can only be achieved in return for peace.”
When Netanyahu
enters the conference hall all stand up and vigorously applaud.
Netanyahu waves to them and they do the same but with more vitality and
enthusiasm. Because the conference is held on the same date of
Netanyahu’s birth, the participants start singing “happy Birthday”.
The works of the
conference start when three children push a big birthday cake full of
candles towards Netanyahu. Then he would blow the candles and start his
speech. “It was nice of you to have remembered my birthday which is a
very special occasion for me. I want to remind you of this day a year
ago. It was the issue of the Aqsa Tunnel. We had opened the tunnel
(sharp applause) and all the world criticized us, but you have supported
us and we will always remember that. I say this to remind you that all
the world might be sometimes wrong (sharp applause and support yells).
He went on to say “when everything is dark and sad, I remember your
continuous support. There is no physician who can give a better
prescription than this one (all laugh loudly).
After mentioning
the many forms of provocations which Israel was exposed to, Netanyahu
said, “The real provocation is not the tunnel, Abu-Ghneim muntain or
settlements, it is our existence here (sharp applause) but this is not
provocation.
This is our state
(whistling applaud, shouts) This is the land of Israel. Above all, this
is the land of Israel because the Tanah (interrupted for one minute by
the participants applaud and whistling). The participants were living a

sing the song of (The people of Israel are alive and existing).
Lawdon Kimberly
from Florida mentioned that she trusted Netanyahu. We can see god’s
hands on his face. He is very desperate, very involved and there is also
of love for him.
This is from god
and politicians generally don’t what they say, but he is aman who
fulfills his promises. Among the kings of Tanah were those who followed

Evangelists believe in Salvation that will come after a horrible war,
the War of Gog and Magog which is very near. Even some Evangelists saw
it as the war which was about to erupt following the presence of

name called “Fish Net” Which has the following tittle “Abu-Ghuneim mount

This scenario ends
with an emphasis that Netanyahu is the only person who has enough dare
to push these buttons. As for Bill Clinton he does not have such dare.

history will remember him as one of the greatest leaders who existed

Anyhow, the state
of Israel, in the beliefs of the Evangelists, is one stage and a means
on the road to Christian salvation. |
